Awarded the task of bringing physical form to the vision for the facility, the Charlottesville firm of Bushman Dreyfus Architects brings its considerable talents and reputation for innovation to the project. Led by architect Jeff Bushman, the BD team worked with Live Arts, Second Street Gallery and Light House directors and program staff to design a facility that would preserve the organizations' separate identities, meet vastly different space needs and, at the same time, present a visually cohesive exterior.

The final design encompasses theater spaces including a two-story main stage theater, open gallery space and a diversified digital video studio within the 27,000-square foot facility.
